Contribute to ‘Your Balance’
Your Balance is the brand new online magazine of Lifestyle Careers. We are looking for contributors.
Our aim is to provide quality information to an audience interested in flexible work and a productive work/life balance.
We are looking for articles that offer advice, research, or best practices on job seeking, recruitment, job boards, flexible work practices, family and work life balance issues and flexible work. Examples of potential contributions include:
- A personal story. Share your experience of finding a more flexible job, or of achieving balance, or any other experience you think might be relevant to our audience.
- Expert advice. Draw on your expertise to give our audience some great insights into some aspect of finding, keeping or handling a more flexible career or a better work-life balance.
- Regular columns. If you have an idea for a regular column, we’d be happy to discuss it. Tell us your idea, your background, and how often you think you could contribute. Bear in mind that if we run with your idea, will need your commitment to submit material by agreed deadlines.
We are looking for articles that offer advice, research, or best practices on job seeking, recruitment, job boards, flexible work practices, family and work life balance issues and flexible work. We welcome any content that will be of value to the audience. In particular we are looking for articles and that offer advice, research, or best practices on job seeking, recruitment, job boards, flexible work practices, family and work life balance issues and flexible work. We will accept articles at a variety of levels, we cater for the novice and expert alike.
Articles should:
- Offer real information and/or practical tips
- Be relevant to flexible workers and/or their employers
- Be highly readable
- Be web friendly. Use subheads, bullet points and short paragraphs so readers can get the point quickly
- Be original and not available anywhere else online at the time of publication. (You retain copyright of your work. We ask for first publication rights only.)
- Be between 450 and 750 words long
- NOT promote or advertise a product or service. If you wish to promote your product or service, please consult our advertising page for rates.
Submissions
You can submit an idea or a completed article directly to the editor via email. Please include some brief background of yourself and why you believe your article is relevant to our audience. Articles should be submitted as text or RTF files, MS Word or Apple Pages documents or as text embedded in your email.
If we agree to publish your article, we will let you know and ask you to send us a short profile and headshot photo for inclusion at the end of your article. You may include your website address in this profile.
All articles will be edited prior to posting; unless major changes are made, we will not consult you with regard to changes made.
Unfortunately we are not in a position to pay contributors at this stage. We hope that we may be able to do this in the future.
